Field Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Job Description

The Field CISO will engage, influence, and empathise with C-level executives at qualified customers, building ongoing trusted advisor relationships. As a recognized authority, the CISO will be part of the account team to grow opportunities and increase adoption of Splunk capabilities.

Responsibilities

1. Executive Engagement:
   • Build positive relationships with senior executives to understand their business goals.
   • Translate complex security, IT, and observability details into strategic insights for executives.
2. Subject Matter Expertise:
   • Represent the company at Executive Briefing Center meetings as an expert.
   • Lead discussions on business and technical outcomes using Splunk's solutions.
3. Collaboration:
   • Work with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering to align products with customer needs.
4. Sales Support:
   • Assist sales in strategic opportunities by collaborating and participating in meetings and calls.
5. Thought Leadership:
   • Demonstrate how Splunk's solutions address top business challenges and stay informed on industry trends.
6. Evangelism and Advocacy:
   • Promote solutions at events, engage in blogging, speaking, and participate in customer advisory boards.

Requirements

• Experience as a CISO or Head of Information Security.
• Proven track record in developing and executing enterprise cybersecurity strategies.
• Experience building and maturing Security Operations teams.
• Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, security, and observability solutions.
• Effective communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
• Experience in customer and partner engagement.
• Ability to align technical solutions with business goals and influence strategies.
• Public speaking and thought leadership experience.
• Strong analytical skills and industry insight.
