Job description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fashion Design Trainer to join our creative faculty. The trainer will be responsible for delivering hands-on training in fashion design, including concept development, garment construction, textile knowledge, illustration, and digital design tools. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the fashion industry, combined with a flair for teaching and mentoring students toward creative and industry-ready outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver classroom and practical training in areas such as:
    • Fashion sketching & illustration (manual and digital)
    • Pattern drafting and garment construction
    • Draping techniques and textile knowledge
    • Fashion history, styling, and trend forecasting
    • Portfolio development and presentation skills
  • Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with industry standards and curriculum objectives.
  • Guide and evaluate student design projects and final collections.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and integrate real-world insights into lessons.
  • Mentor students on career paths, internships, and competitions.
  • Collaborate with the academic team to enhance the learning experience.
  • Organize or support fashion shows, exhibitions, and workshops.

Requirements:
  • Diploma/Degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • ACLP/ACTA certified.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in the fashion industry or fashion education.
  • Strong skills in both manual and digital design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO3D).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Passionate about mentoring and nurturing creative talent.
  • Preferred) Prior teaching or training experience in an academic or vocational setting.
