Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. in Bedok, Singapore, is offering a Factory Automation (Hardware) Intern position.

You will assist engineers and participate in automation projects aimed at productivity and quality improvements, contributing to Skyworks' mission to be best in class filter manufacturer. The role involves implementing automation systems, collaborating with Production, Engineering, IT, and external providers to deliver projects, document best practices, and learn continuously.

Qualifications

• Experience with handling projects (e.g., event organising) and coordinating tasks.
• Fast learner for new systems with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good systematic problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Team player who can also work independently.

Responsibilities

• Implement automation systems comprising in-house developed, customized solutions and off-the-shelf products on the production floor.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering (Process & Equipment), and IT to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Work with Engineering (Process & Equipment) and external providers to introduce and qualify automation projects that improve quality and flow.
• Engage with production and engineering teams and external providers to implement projects and meet targets/KPIs.
• Identify system enhancement opportunities, propose improvements, and implement them in production.
• Prepare project proposals (new projects or improvements) for CAPEX review when needed.
• Support engineering teams in project implementation and promote system adoption.
• Create and document best practices for end users of automation systems.
• Demonstrate continuous learning and readiness for new challenges.
• Attend to ad hoc duties as assigned.

We are looking for a dedicated Factory Automation (Hardware) intern to assist our Engineers and participate in Skyworks automation projects for productivity, quality improvement, and support our mission to be best in class filter manufacturer.

Responsibilities

• Implement automation systems comprising of in-house developed, customized solutions & off-the shelf product to the production floor.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering comprising Process & Equipment, IT to troubleshoot and resolve production systems issues raised.
• Work closely with Engineering comprising Process & Equipment & external solution provider to introduce & qualify automation projects that improves quality control & operational flow.
• Actively engage with production, engineering teams & external solution providers where necessary to implement Automation projects and achieve implementation target / KPI.
• Identify system enhancement opportunities, propose improvement plan, and implement to the production environment.
• Prepare project proposals (Be it New project or improvement plan) for review and submission for CAPEX request where necessary.
• Provide support to engineering team to assist them in the projects implementation and push for adoption / usage of systems in their day-to-day work.
• Create and document best practice on using automations systems for end user.
• Actively demonstrate a passion for continuous learning.
• Any Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Skills

• Experience with handling projects. Example: event organising, etc.
• Fast learner for new systems with minimum supervision.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Strong and systemic problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good Team Player and able to work independently.

Desired Experience and Skills

• Attended any formal Project Management courses.
• Basic Machine operational technical knowledge.
• Experience in drafting flow charts.
• Experience with Robotics, AI & Machine learning application.
