Job description

Responsibilities

• Daily collection of dirty glassware, bottles, plasticware from labs to the washing centre.
• Washing of collected glassware and apparatus.
• Operation of equipment (e.g., glassware washer, sterilizer and autoclave) in the centralized glass wash area.
• Inspection of glassware for damage such as cracks, chips, or scratches.
• Daily delivery of clean glassware to storage cabinets at distribution points.
• Operation and user maintaining of glassware washer, sterilizer and autoclave machine.
• Performing laboratory waste disinfection daily.
• Performing basic cleaning and janitorial duties in their work environments.
• Awareness of environmental, health and safety issues in the work environment.
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum Secondary Education and able to converse in English and Mandarin.
• Able to understand and follow instruction well.
• Physically fit as candidate will be standing and moving while working.
• Strong tolerance for soil and odour such as biological waste and soil lab ware.
• Good cleaning and hygiene habits.
• Hard working and a team player.
