Job summary

BUSINESS EDGE PERSONNEL SERVICES PTE LTD is seeking a Facilities Technician responsible for maintaining plant facilities, utilities, HVAC systems, and cleanroom environments in a controlled manufacturing setting. You will ensure safe, compliant operations and support GMP, quality, and environmental requirements.

The role requires 2–5 years of related maintenance experience, cleanroom exposure preferred, and strong ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Cleanroom experience preferred in pharma/biotech/medical devices/semiconductor sectors.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and environmental monitoring.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of GMP, safety procedures, and energy management.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on facility and utility systems.
• Operate and maintain HVAC, HEPA filters, AHUs, chilled water, exhausts, and environmental controls.
• Monitor cleanroom conditions: temp, humidity, airflow, differential pressure, particles.
• Troubleshoot systems including plumbing, electrical, and BMS/BAS.
• Support qualification, validation, commissioning, and modifications.
• Respond to alarms and outages to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate maintenance with production, quality, engineering, and contractors.
• Maintain accurate work orders, equipment histories, calibration, and CMMS records.
• Inspect life-safety systems and energy management processes.

Job Summary

The role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting plant facilities, utilities, HVAC systems, building systems, and cleanroom environments within a manufacturing or controlled facility. The position ensures that facility systems operate reliably, safely, and in compliance with cleanroom, GMP, quality, and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance for facility and utility systems.
• Operate and maintain HVAC systems, HEPA filters, AHUs, chilled water, exhaust systems, and environmental controls.
• Monitor cleanroom conditions, including temperature, humidity, airflow, differential pressure, and airborne particles.
• Troubleshoot systems such as compressed air, vacuum, purified water, process gases, plumbing, electrical distribution, lighting, and BMS/BAS.
• Support cleanroom certification, facility qualification, validation, commissioning, installation, shutdown, and modification activities.
• Respond to facility alarms, utility failures, and urgent maintenance requests to reduce downtime.
• Coordinate maintenance work with production, quality, engineering, validation teams, and external contractors.
• Maintain accurate work orders, equipment histories, calibration records, and maintenance documentation in the CMMS.
• Inspect emergency and life-safety systems, including fire protection equipment, backup power, and emergency lighting.
• Support energy management, continuous improvement, housekeeping, audits, and regulatory inspections.

Requirements

• Higher Nitec or Nitec in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Cleanroom experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, semiconductor, electronics, or similar industries is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, facility utilities, HEPA filtration, air balancing, and environmental monitoring.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of LOTO, confined-space entry, hot-work procedures, GMP, contamination control, and industrial safety practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
