Job description

You will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and sustainable shopping mall environment, with a strong focus on delivering measurable cleaning and environmental outcomes. This includes optimising water efficiency, reviewing and renewing environmental service contracts, managing vendor relationships, and aligning service standards with regulatory requirements and mall objectives. A key aspect of the role is driving sustainability efforts and ensuring exceptional operational standards across soft services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all housekeeping operations to ensure the mall maintains high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Develop and implement pest control strategies, coordinating treatments to maintain a pest-free environment.
  • Oversee waste segregation, recycling, and disposal processes, with a focus on improving efficiency and sustainability.
  • Manage landscaping and greenery maintenance to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the mall’s exterior and public spaces.
  • Design and execute environmental sanitation and disinfection programmes, particularly for high-touch and high-traffic areas.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of kitchen exhaust systems and monitor indoor air quality, implementing improvements where necessary.
  • Promote and implement water conservation practices and technologies to reduce water usage.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in collaboration with regulatory authorities.
  • Review, negotiate, and manage contracts related to housekeeping, pest control, waste management, landscaping, and other environmental services.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in soft services or facilities operations, with proven exposure in a retail or shopping mall environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage across various levels effectively.
  • Proactive team player with strong problem-solving abilities, capable of working independently under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Diploma or higher qualifications in Real Estate, Building / Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
