Qualifications

• Familiarity with ISO50001 or sustainability frameworks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up a Renewable Energy Credits (REC) framework for solar energy tracking by 2026.
• Support data collection and analysis to map environmental impact at the machine level.
• Contribute to baseline studies for Scope3 emissions focusing on consumables and packaging.
• Conduct audits and identify opportunities to reduce food waste, general waste, and recyclables.
• Help analyze site-wide electricity consumption and recommend energy-saving improvements.
• Document and help standardize procedures for data collection to support ISO50001 renewal.

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated facilities intern with a mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, environmental, or sustainability focus to support the planning and execution of site‑wide sustainability initiatives at GE Aerospace Engine Services Singapore (GEAESS). The role offers hands‑on experience in environmental impact analysis, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and renewable energy projects, and involves developing systems to measure and improve energy, water, and material usage at the machine level, supporting solar energy tracking, waste reduction, and sustainability reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up a Renewable Energy Credits (REC) framework to support solar energy tracking by 2026.
• Support data collection and analysis to map environmental impact at the machine level (e.g., electricity, water, gas, consumables).
• Contribute to baseline studies for Scope3 emissions with a focus on purchased goods such as consumables and packaging.
• Conduct audits and identify opportunities for reducing food waste, general waste, and recyclables through technologies such as composting or smart bins.
• Help analyze site‑wide electricity consumption to identify high‑usage equipment and recommend energy‑saving improvements.
• Document and help standardize procedures for data collection to support ISO50001 certification renewal.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in sustainability, energy management, and environmental systems.
• Basic understanding of industrial equipment and facility operations.
• Comfortable working with data (e.g., energy usage, material flows) and able to perform basic analysis using Excel or similar tools.
• Willingness to conduct site‑level audits and engage with various teams to gather information.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with ISO50001 or sustainability frameworks is a plus, but not required.
