Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in Instrumentation and Control Systems Design, Maintenance, and Operations in semiconductor/manufacturing.
  • PLC and SCADA certification; knowledge of Python, SQL; data analysis skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Awareness of AI literacy and responsible use of AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities

  • Champion EH&S compliance across all control operations and perform risk assessments.
  • Lead commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of control systems.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and drive 8D root-cause investigations.
  • Oversee capacity planning and performance analysis for site growth.
  • Review scope, schedule, and costs for infrastructure upgrades; guide design/construction.
  • Conduct FMEA to eliminate single points of failure and boost resilience.
  • Mentor control engineers and technicians through training and hands-on coaching.
  • Lead post-incident reviews and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive capacity expansion, reliability, and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Deploy SMART power, predictive diagnostics and AI-assisted tools.
  • Integrate AI insights into daily work with safe, compliant usage.
  • Contribute to continuous AI-enabled improvements within scope.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Facilities Control Engineer to lead engineering and maintenance activities in the areas of Control and SMART Facility systems on site. This role is essential for ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of control infrastructure that supports advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive alignment with site, corporate, and departmental objectives.

They will contribute expert technical knowledge to advance innovative solutions, ensuring visible impact at the project or program level. The role also requires awareness of leadership skill development, fostering growth in both technical and leadership dimensions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion environmental, health, and safety compliance across all control operations. Perform risk assessments and promote a culture of safety and operational discipline.
  • Lead commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of control systems.
  • Provide expert-level support for complex operational issues and lead root cause investigations using 8D problem-solving methodologies.
  • Oversee capacity planning, system performance analysis and execution of expansion projects to enable site growth and production demands.
  • Review and validate scope, schedule, and cost estimates for infrastructure upgrades. Provide engineering oversight and technical guidance during design and construction phases.
  • Perform risk assessments and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to eliminate single points of failure and enhance system resilience.
  • Mentor and develop control engineers and technicians through structured training programs and hands-on site engagement.
  • Lead post-incident reviews and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions for system abnormalities.
  • Drive strategic initiatives for system capacity expansion, reliability improvement, and energy efficiency.
  • Spearhead the deployment of SMART power systems, predictive diagnostics, and digital tools to enhance team productivity and system intelligence.
  • Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
  • Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one's scope of work.
Job Requirements, Qualifications/Experience
  • Master's/Bachelor's/advanced degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required
  • Experience in Instrumentation and Control Systems Design, Maintenance, and Operations within semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments is preferred
  • Possession of certification on PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition). Knowledge of Python/R, Web development (Front end and Back end), Software ecosystem (Hadoop), database (SQL), statistical knowledge or relevant programming skills will be advantageous. Knowledge and application of problem solving and data analysis methodology. Knowledge of maintenance practices and procedure and installation work for PLC, Instrumentation, Toxic Gas Monitoring and SCADA.

  • Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus
  • Proven leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable
  • Interest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron is preferred
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiment, Engineering Statistical data analysis would be advantageous.
  • Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role ‑ appropriate AI literacy to use AI ‑ enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem ‑ solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.
