Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Facilities Electrical Principal Engineer to lead engineering, maintenance, and strategic development of on-site electrical systems at Fab 10. You will oversee safety, reliability, and performance across HV to LV infrastructure and drive AI-enabled optimization.

You will mentor engineers, lead complex projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable site growth and production demands while advancing digital tooling adoption.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
  • 8+ years in HV/MV/LV electrical design, maintenance, operations.
  • Proficient with ETAP and IEC standards.
  • Experience with SMART systems and predictive maintenance tools advantageous.
  • Strong communication and project management to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Champion safety and environmental compliance for electrical ops.
  • Perform risk assessments and promote operational discipline.
  • Lead commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems from 230kV to LV.
  • Provide expert support and lead 8D-based root cause investigations.
  • Oversee capacity planning and expansion project execution.
  • Review scope, schedule, and cost estimates for upgrades.
  • Provide engineering oversight during design and construction.
  • Conduct FMEA to eliminate single points of failure.
  • Mentor engineers and technicians through training on site.
  • Lead post-incident reviews and drive corrective actions.

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Facilities Electrical Principal Engineer to lead the Engineering, Maintenance, and strategic development of on-site electrical systems. This role is critical to ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of electrical infrastructure supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align with site, corporate, and departmental goals. They will contribute expert technical knowledge to advance innovative solutions, ensuring visible impact at the project or program level. The role also requires awareness of leadership skill development, fostering growth in both technical and leadership dimensions. This role requires proficiency in AI-enabled ways of working and the effective use of digital tools to enhance decision-making, productivity, operational efficiency, and business outcomes. The successful candidate is expected to identify opportunities for automation, data-driven optimization, and continuous improvement while supporting Micron's AI transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion environmental, health, and safety compliance across all electrical operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and promote a culture of safety and operational discipline.
  • Lead commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems from 230kV to Low Voltage, including emergency generators, Dynamic UPS, and advanced power quality equipment.
  • Provide expert-level support for complex operational issues and lead root cause investigations using 8D problem-solving methodologies.
  • Oversee capacity planning, system performance analysis and execution of expansion projects to enable site growth and production demands.
  • Review and validate scope, schedule, and cost estimates for infrastructure upgrades.
  • Provide engineering oversight and technical guidance during design and construction phases.
  • Conduct risk assessments and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to eliminate single points of failure and enhance system resilience.
  • Mentor and develop electrical engineers and technicians through structured training programs and hands-on site engagement.
  • Lead post-incident reviews and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions for system abnormalities.
  • Drive strategic initiatives for system capacity expansion, reliability improvement, and energy efficiency.
  • Spearhead the deployment of SMART power systems, predictive diagnostics, and digital tools to enhance team productivity and system intelligence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement AI-driven solutions that enhance operational performance and reliability.
  • Promote continuous improvement through the adoption of digital tools, automation, and data-driven decision-making practices.
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and contribute to fostering an AI-ready culture within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 8+ years of experience in High, Medium, and Low Voltage Electrical Systems Design, Maintenance, and Operations within semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HV/MV/LV systems, ETAP software, and IEC standards.
  • Familiarity with SMART systems and predictive maintenance tools is advantageous.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and project management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Good understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and facilities systems.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in leveraging AI-enabled tools and digital technologies to enhance productivity, decision-making, problem-solving, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience utilizing AI-powered platforms, digital assistants, predictive analytics, or machine learning solutions is preferred.
  • Strong willingness to learn, adopt, and champion emerging AI technologies to support Micron's digital transformation initiatives.
