Job summary

Broadcom Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Fab Equipment Engineer to maintain and improve high‑volume semiconductor equipment in our cleanroom environment. You will ensure maximum uptime and contribute to process yield and cost optimization.

You will perform PMs, troubleshoot complex tools, document procedures, and collaborate with Process Engineers to drive MTBF improvements and cost reductions using data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
• 3–5 years hands-on equipment engineering in a high-volume semiconductor fab.
• Experience with listed fab tools and equipment repair.
• Strong RCA skills (5 Why, Fishbone).
• Ability to read schematics (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, P&ID).
• Excellent communication, teamwork and documentation.

Fab Equipment Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for dedicated and technically proficient Fab Equipment Engineer responsible for maintaining, repairing, and continuously improving high-volume manufacturing equipment in our cleanroom environment. The successful candidate will ensure maximum equipment uptime, optimize equipment performance, and contribute to process yield and cost improvement goals.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance and Reliability

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and unscheduled repairs on various semiconductor/fab equipment, focusing on MOCVD reactors, Lithography, E-Beam, Aligners, Coaters/ Developers, PECVD, RIE, Polishers, Metrology and other fab support tools.
• Lead the troubleshooting and repair of complex equipment malfunctions to quickly restore tools to production-ready status and minimize unscheduled downtime.
• Develop, refine, and document standardized maintenance procedures for all assigned equipment.
• Manage equipment spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and technical support.

Process Optimization and Improvement

• Collaborate closely with Process Engineers to improve equipment stability, process control, and MTBF.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve recurring equipment failures or defects using root cause analysis methodologies (DMAIC, 8D).
• Implement equipment upgrades and modifications to enhance performance, increase throughput, and reduce manufacturing costs.
• Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other data analysis tools to monitor equipment health and predict potential failures.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to strict cleanroom protocols, risk assessments, safety regulations, and environmental compliance standards.
• Participate in safety audits and adhere to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and other safety programs.
• Accurately document all maintenance activities, parts usage, and system changes in the ISS inventory tracker.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands‑on experience as an Equipment Engineer in a high-volume semiconductor frontend manufacturing environment or experience working as an OEM field service tool support for this type of environment.
• Proven expertise in setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting some of the specified tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using RCA tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, P&ID).
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills. Must be a team player.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and must participate in ERT activities.
