is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide perioperative nursing support for ophthalmic procedures, with strong operating theatre scrub experience, particularly in cataract surgery and LASIK/refractive procedures. Based at Royal Square at Novena, you will prepare the theatre and instruments, maintain sterile technique, and assist surgeons while delivering pre- and post-operative care.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse qualification recognized in Singapore.
• Valid practicing certificate with the Singapore Nursing Board.
• Operating theatre scrub nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in ophthalmology, cataract surgery, LASIK, or day surgery settings is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub nurse duties for ophthalmic surgeries, including cataract and LASIK procedures.
• Prepare operating theatre, surgical instruments, implants, consumables, and specialized ophthalmic equipment.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection control standards throughout procedures.
• Assist the surgeon during surgery by anticipating surgical requirements and ensuring smooth workflow.
• Perform surgical counts and documentation according to established protocols.
• Assist with preparation and setup for cataract procedures, including IOL implantation cases.

• Salary: S$3,000-S$5,500 basic (depending on experience)
• Workdays/Hours: 5.5 days
• Mon-Fri, 8:30AM – 6:30PM and Sat, 8:30AM – 1:00PM
• Location: Royal Square at Novena

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

Operating Theatre / Scrub Duties

• Perform scrub nurse duties for ophthalmic surgeries, including cataract and LASIK procedures.
• Prepare operating theatre, surgical instruments, implants, consumables, and specialized ophthalmic equipment.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection control standards throughout procedures.
• Assist the surgeon during surgery by anticipating surgical requirements and ensuring smooth workflow.
• Perform surgical counts and documentation according to established protocols.

Cataract Surgery Support

• Assist with preparation and setup for cataract procedures, including intraocular lens (IOL) implantation cases.
• Ensure availability and correct handling of ophthalmic surgical instruments and implants.
• Support patient safety during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.

LASIK / Refractive Surgery Support

• Provide scrub assistance for LASIK, PRK/LASEK, ICL, and other refractive procedures.
• Prepare laser surgery equipment, sterile supplies, and procedure-specific instruments.
• Assist in maintaining efficient patient flow within the refractive surgery suite.

Patient Care & Clinical Support

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and patient education.
• Monitor patients’ condition and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Support doctors and clinical staff in delivering personalized ophthalmic care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and compliance with healthcare standards.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Registered Nurse qualification recognized in Singapore.
• Valid practicing certificate with the Singapore Nursing Board.
• Operating theatre / scrub nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in ophthalmology, cataract surgery, LASIK, or day surgery settings is highly advantageous.
