Job summary

STAR CAREER CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is looking for an Export Compliance Manager to oversee defence export governance and technology security policies in line with Singapore and international regulations.

You will drive compliance plans, work with internal teams and external agencies, and provide business guidance on all import/export matters, including ITAR/EAR considerations where applicable.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in engineering or technical field.
• Good knowledge of Singapore SG Act and U.S. export control regulations (ITAR, EAR) is a plus.
• Singaporean nationality required.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor import/export policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore Customs Act and export control regulations.
• Maintain records for internal and regulatory audits on defence export activities.

Export Compliance Manager/ Manager Export Control

Job Scope:

The Export Compliance Manager will oversee the governance of defence exports and technology security policies by driving compliance plans and processes to meet Singapore Customs Act, Regulations of Imports and export Act, Strategic Goods (Control) Act and other foreign regulatory requirements such as U.S. and Germany. The individual would need to examine the defence systems for defence export and technologies related to current affairs. The incumbent would need to work with internal stakeholders and external agencies to provide business guidance and advice in relation to all import and export matters in line with applicable export control laws and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Good in implementing and monitoring import/export policies, procedures and best practices
• Good knowledge of import/export compliance /requirements, in accordance to Singapore Customs Act and in particular, U.S. Export Control Regulations.
• Good knowledge of the Singapore Strategic Good (Control) Act and U.S. Export Control Regulations (ITAR, EAR, etc.) is requried.
• Understanding of the best practices of overall export controlled items such as export controlled acquisition and disposition of such items.
• Good in handling import/export paperwork and maintain complete records for internal audit and relevant authorities audit on defence export activities.
• Involved in participating planning, organizing, and supporting company export compliance.
• Good in providing advice and guidance to internal stakeholders in the clearance for foreign visitors and participation in international exhibitions.

Requirements:

• A tertiary qualification, preferably in engineering or in a technical field. Relevant work experience in the area of export controls and defence technology systems, ideally with experience related to defence, military or highly regulated tech industries is preferred.
• Good experience and knowledge of the Singapore Strategic Good (Control) Act and U.S. Export Control Regulations (ITAR, EAR, etc.) would be a plus.
