Job summary

Shopee is seeking a senior ML leader to design and evolve core algorithms across the Marketplace Intelligence and Data team in Singapore. You will own end-to-end ML solutions, from research to production, spanning AIGC detection, security, multimodal models, and biometric safety.

The role requires a PhD or Master’s in CS/AI with 5+ years building production ML systems, strong DL skills, and a track record of delivering large-scale systems.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, AI, or related fields.
• 5+ years of experience building production ML systems or equivalent impact.
• Recognized technical depth in related technical fields.
• Strong hands-on expertise with modern deep learning stacks.
• Proven track record leading large-scale systems from concept to production.
• Excellent technical judgment in ambiguous problem spaces.
• Ownership mindset and long-term thinking.
• Publications in top-tier CV/Multimodal/AI conferences and journals (nice to have).

About The Team

The Marketplace Intelligence and Data team's mission is to build sustainable and efficient data and intelligence products to facilitate Shopee's business development. The team is responsible for Shopee e-commerce data warehouse construction, merchant and operation data product construction, all-link traffic data, product algorithms, including product release, control, information optimization, SPU library and its comparison business, marketing algorithms, including Merchandising, Product Selection, Recommendation Algorithm, Evaluation Algorithms, User Profiling, and in addition, basic AI capabilities, such as Machine Translation, Speech Algorithm, Image Algorithm, and Real-person Authentication.
