Job summary

Shopee is seeking a highly motivated algorithm engineer to join the Marketplace Intelligence & Data team in Singapore. You will work on real-world identity verification and AI security challenges, building computer vision and multimodal models, and supporting end-to-end model lifecycles from data analysis to deployment.

You'll collaborate with senior engineers and product managers, exploring emerging techniques in CV, multimodal AI, and trustworthy AI while contributing to production-grade AI

Qualifications

• Bachelor or above in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related fields.
• Proficient in Python and deep learning workflows.
• Experience with model training, evaluation, and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve computer vision and multimodal models including AIGC detection and media forensics.
• Participate in data analysis, model training, evaluation, and deployment lifecycle.
• Design training and inference pipelines using modern deep learning frameworks.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and product managers to deliver production-ready AI solutions.
• Continuously learn and explore new techniques in CV, multimodal AI, and trustworthy AI.

About The Team

The Marketplace Intelligence and Data team's mission is to build sustainable and efficient data and intelligence products to facilitate Shopee's business development. The team is responsible for Shopee e-commerce data warehouse construction, merchant and operation data product construction, all-link traffic data, product algorithms, including product release, control, information optimization, SPU library and its comparison business, marketing algorithms, including Merchandising, Product Selection, Recommendation Algorithm, Evaluation Algorithms, User Profiling, and in addition, basic AI capabilities, such as Machine Translation, Speech Algorithm, Image Algorithm, and Real-person Authentication.

Job Description

You will join our Marketplace Intelligence & Data team to work on real-world identity verification and AI security problems, including:

• Develop and improve computer vision and multimodal models, such as:
• AIGC detection and media forensics
• Face intelligence, liveness detection, and deepfake defense
• Document understanding and fraud detection
• Multimodal reasoning and AI agent
• Participate in the full model lifecycle, including data analysis, model training, evaluation, and deployment
• Design and implement training and inference pipelines using modern deep learning frameworks
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers and product managers to deliver production-ready AI solutions
• Continuously learn and explore new techniques in computer vision, multimodal AI, and trustworthy AI

Requirements

• Bachelor or above in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related fields
• Solid programming skills in Python
• Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch)
• Good foundation in one of the following areas: Computer Vision / Multimodal / Vision-Language Mode / Large Language Model / Natural Language Processing / Speech Processing
• Familiar with basic model training, evaluation, and debugging
• Good problem-solving skills, strong curiosity, and willingness to learn
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Good To Have

• Experience with image or video analysis, familiarity with computer vision or multimodal models
• Research experience, competition experience, or publications in computer vision or AI-related fields
• Internship experience in AI or algorithm roles
