Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned AVL Technician with a strong background in the setup, operation, and maintenance of professional-grade audio, visual, and lighting systems. This role requires in-depth technical expertise and the ability to independently manage complex event setups, troubleshoot on the fly, and lead AVL operations for live events and installations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the installation, configuration, and operation of advanced AVL systems, including digital audio consoles, intelligent lighting fixtures, and projection/display systems.
  • Oversee pre-event system checks and ensure all equipment is fully operational and optimized for performance.
  • Provide real-time technical support and troubleshooting during events to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Supervise and assist in the setup and teardown processes, ensuring efficiency and equipment safety.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and industry best practices in all AVL activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, maintenance logs, and system configurations.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to junior team members or freelance crew when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in AVL roles for live events, productions, or installations.
  • Strong proficiency with professional audio consoles (e.g., Yamaha, Allen & Heath, Midas), lighting control systems (e.g., Avolite, MA Lighting, ChamSys), and video systems (e.g., LED processors, switchers, projection).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, as required by event schedules.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., WSQ, CTS, OSHA, or manufacturer training) are a plus
