A community organization in Singapore is seeking a Volunteer Manager to lead and engage a group of volunteers, mainly Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs). The ideal candidate will be proactive in building relationships and managing outreach activities, with a passion for supporting the domestic worker community. A diploma or degree is required, and proficiency in IT applications and social media is essential. This role requires working on Sundays and possibly after hours.
Centre for Domestic Employees (CDE) champions for the fair employment treatment of domestic employees in Singapore through balanced and pragmatic approach and promotes cohesive social integration among the community.
As part of the team, you will take the lead in managing a group of volunteers—comprising mainly of Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs)—while planning activities and supporting case management. If you are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the domestic worker community, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
· Recruit, manage, engage and retain CDE volunteers.
· Develop outreach plan and conduct outreach.
· Regularly communicate (e.g., via text, messaging platforms) and build strong relationships with volunteers to ensure consistent engagement and promote trust.
· Maintain and update volunteer database and post event data in an accurate and timely manner.
· Plan and execute activities and events for volunteers and CDE/ NTUC.
· Generate monthly outreach and volunteers report for management review.
· Handle cases and 24-hour helpline pertaining to domestic workers’ employment matters.
· Perform any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
· Diploma/ Degree in any discipline
· Entry Level candidates arewelcome to apply.
· Ability to manage difficult situations and has a flair to work well with different stakeholders from various cultural and social backgrounds.
· Proactive communicator who enjoys building and maintaining relationships with volunteers including MDWs.
· Proficient with IT applications (e.g.Microsoft office) and social media.
· Team player who is also a self-starter, able to work independently with strong initiative and a sense of accountability.
· Ability to converse in MDW’s native language (such as Burmese, Tagalog or Tamil/Hindi) is an advantage.
· Requiredto work on Sundays, and when requiredafter office hours.
· Prior experience in volunteer management or community engagement is an advantage.
