You will be responsible for assisting in the formulation of transport security and emergency preparedness policies, doctrines and plans covering aviation, maritime and land transport, including regular horizon scanning of relevant developments worldwide.As part of the team that drives MOT’s transport security policies, you will need to engage local stakeholders and international partners on transport security issues relevant to the development of holistic transport security policies and approaches. Your responsibilities will also include organising, managing and participating in transport and transport security events, and to assist and manage in various other strategic and transport policy and development work.In driving and coordinating MOT’s emergency preparedness efforts, you will assist in ensuring the operational readiness of MOT and its Statutory Boards to deal with contingencies and emergencies. You will also assist in the organisation of contingency exercises and other emergency preparedness activities and provide secretariat support for the Transport Crisis Management Group in the event of emergencies. Additionally, you will work with other Homefront agencies on issues relating to emergency preparedness and response, and support MOT’s participation in various inter-agency and national exercises.

There are four statutory boards which are established by Acts of Parliament: the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the Land Transport Authority (LTA), the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the Public Transport Council (PTC). The ministry also oversees the operation of the Transport Safety Investigation Bureau (TSIB).
