SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated Public Relations & Communications Executive/Senior Executive with strong interest in media relations and strategic narrative development to join MOHH's Strategic Communications and Marketing Division. You will support the relevant divisions on public communications strategies and positioning of issues, as well as develop and implement strategic communications initiatives to build and strengthen MOHH’s corporate reputation and its subsidiaries, while driving stakeholder engagement and brand positioning at a strategic level.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development and implementation of communications and PR strategies aligned with MOHH’s organisational priorities and broader public healthcare initiatives.
- Manage day-to-day media relations, including responding to media queries and developing press releases, media statements, talking points, Q&As and other media materials.
- Keep abreast of news, emerging issues and broader trends relevant to MOHH and public healthcare, and curate timely news updates and insights to support organisational awareness and communications planning.
- Monitor emerging issues and developments, assess their potential communications and reputational implications, and support appropriate responses.
- Support issues and crisis communications, including fact-finding, stakeholder coordination, development of holding lines and responses, and preparation of communications materials.
- Develop clear and compelling corporate communications materials, including speeches, presentations, briefing notes, key messages and senior management communications.
- Work closely with internal divisions, public healthcare institutions, government agencies and other stakeholders to coordinate communications and ensure alignment of messaging.
- Support media interviews, announcements, events and other communications opportunities from planning through to execution.
- Translate complex healthcare, operational and policy information into communications that are clear, accurate and accessible to different audiences.
- Contribute ideas and identify opportunities to strengthen MOHH’s corporate reputation and tell meaningful stories about public healthcare and the people behind it.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately for different audiences.
- Strong news sense and curiosity about current affairs, healthcare, public policy and emerging issues, with the ability to identify what is relevant and why it matters.
- Good judgement and the ability to identify communications and reputational considerations in evolving situations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand complex information, identify what matters and translate it into clear communications.
- Confidence working with different stakeholders and coordinating inputs across multiple teams.
- Meticulous attention to detail, particularly when handling factual or sensitive information.
- Ability to remain composed, organised and responsive when managing competing priorities and tight timelines.
- A collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn.
Years of Experience Required:
- At least 2-5 years of proven experience in public relations or corporate communications in an agency or in-house setting.
- Experience in healthcare sector or public sector communications is advantageous.
