Job summary

A leading organization is seeking an experienced HR professional focused on Industrial and Employee Relations. In this role, you will ensure compliance with employment regulations, assist in employee engagement initiatives, and manage staff training. The position requires strong negotiation skills and a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a commitment to fostering best practices in employee relations.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Learning & Development, Employee Relations, and Union Management.
  • High level of trustworthiness and discretion.
  • Candidates available on short or immediate notice preferred.

Job description

Main / Key Responsibilities
  1. Industrial and Employee Relations

    • Ensure policies and procedures related to employee relations comply with tripartite guidelines/advisories and employment regulations. Upkeep documentation of policies and procedures.

    • Assist with development or update of polices and procedures when required.

    • Assist in establishing a fair and robust framework for managing employee grievance and disciplinary regulations and work with HR business partners on adoption of framework.

    • Support the negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements.

    • Provide secretariat support during collective bargaining agreements negotiation, internal disciplinary reviews and Investigations.

    • Assist the assessment of business impact and risks in connection with labour relations, including regulatory requirements to management if required and to come up with the necessary action planning for risk management and mitigation.

    • Foster best practices in managing employee relations.

  2. Learning & Development

    • Liaise with training providers on the registration of courses for employees.

    • Collect necessary information from employees and assist with course registration matters if necessary.

    • Process and submit invoices to Manager (Learning & Engagement).

  3. Staff Engagement and Administration

    • Develop communication material kits, prepare memos and staff announcements to convey desired messages clearly to employees.

    • Assist in other HR, event organising or office administration duties as and when assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Employee Relations, or Conflict Management.

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in L&D, Employee Relations and Union Management.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong conflict resolution skills.

  • Proven negotiating expertise.

  • High level of trustworthiness and discretion.

  • Candidates available on short or immediate notice preferred.

  • Contract duration: 1 year.
