Job description:
Job Purpose:
Provide engineering solutions to reliability issues affecting SMRT Signalling, Communication & Control System and related equipment. Conduct defect troubleshooting, failure analysis, reliability trending, and develop engineering solutions independently.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams across lines and other engineering departments to investigate defects, develop methods, propose modifications, and improve maintenance strategies.
  2. Analyze and trend condition monitoring and defect data to identify reliability concerns; develop methods, propose modifications, and improve maintenance strategies.
  3. Draft technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  4. Identify and implement cost-effective technologies to enhance system performance.
  5. Support LTA and SMRT projects by reviewing design specifications to ensure safety, reliability, maintainability, and operability; provide engineering support as needed.
  6. Report any safety concerns at the workplace.
  7. Perform other tasks or functions as assigned by the supervisor.
  8. Work in any SMRT lines or Maintenance Depots.
  9. Work in rotating or fixed shifts.
Qualifications & Work Experience:
  1. Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  2. Previous railway system experience is advantageous.
Skills:
  1. Proficient in diagnostic and reliability engineering methodologies such as Weibull Analysis, Failure Mode and Effect Criticality Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Maintenance Science best practices.
  2. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; comfortable working hands-on in maintenance workshops alongside Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Technical Officers.
  3. Ability to work independently and in a team.
  4. Fluent in written and spoken English.
  5. Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
