Job description

The Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC) is seeking a passionate and driven Public Engagement Executive to join our creative and energetic team. This role focuses on conceptualising and delivering engaging programmes, events, and outreach initiatives that connect with diverse audiences and elevate the visitor experience at SDC. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of creativity, operational planning, and a collaborative spirit to develop impactful public offerings that drive footfall and deepen audience engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Development and Execution:

  • Conceptualise and implement compelling public programmes, campaigns, and events aligned with SDC’s vision and audience needs.

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage logistics for both in-centre and outreach programmes, ensuring smooth execution from start to end.

  • Lead and support signature events and seasonal activations such as school holiday programmes, festive celebrations (e.g., National Day, Halloween), and more.

Evaluation & Reporting:

  • Monitor and track engagement metrics and feedback to assess programme effectiveness and visitor satisfaction.

  • Assist in compiling post-event evaluations and insights to support future planning.

  • Support budget tracking and reporting for public engagement initiatives.

Cross-departmental Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal departments to embed public engagement across key museum activities and outreach efforts.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders and partners to enhance the reach and impact of public engagement initiatives.

Job Requirements & Preferred Skills

  • Diploma or Degree in relevant fields such as:
    - Event/Project Management, Arts Management, Cultural Studies, or related disciplines
    - Media, Arts, or Design

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Creative thinker with a strong sense of initiative and attention to detail

  • A collaborative team player with a positive and proactive attitude

  • Resourceful and capable of managing multiple projects and timelines.

  • Familiarity with digital tools and basic content creation (e.g., social media, EDMs) will be an added advantage.

  • Willing to work on weekends and outside of regular hours for event support.
