Job summary

Suntory Beverage & Food Asia in Singapore seeks an entry-level R&D support role to assist health enrichment product development, from prototype creation to stability testing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support Laboratory Operations – assist with daily lab activities, sample preparation, equipment operation, housekeeping, cleanliness and general lab maintenance.
• Support Product Development – assist in the development and testing of health enrichment products across formats (beverages, jelly, gummy, etc.).
• Prototype Development – prepare product prototypes and samples per procedures and formulations.
• Sensory Evaluation – conduct sensory evaluations and document attributes (taste, texture, aroma, appearance).
• Stability & Shelf-Life Testing – prepare samples for shelf-life studies and monitor stability.
• Analysis & Reporting – perform basic chemical analysis, record results, and prepare reports.
• Administrative & Ad Hoc Support – provide general support for R&D projects and lab activities.

About Your Role

The role is responsible for supporting R&D and new product development for health enrichment products. This includes:

• Conduct prototype development, laboratory testing, sensory evaluation, and stability studies
• Analyze and report research findings to support product improvement and commercialization.
• Support laboratory maintenance and other R&D projects or ad hoc activities.

What You’ll Do

• Support Laboratory Operations – Assist with daily laboratory activities, including sample preparation, equipment operation, housekeeping, cleanliness, and general laboratory maintenance.
• Support Product Development – Assist in the development and testing of new health enrichment products across various formats, including beverages, jelly, gummy, and other product varieties.
• Prototype Development – Prepare product prototypes and samples according to established procedures and formulations, while ensuring proper use and operation of laboratory equipment.
• Sensory Evaluation – Conduct sensory evaluations of prototypes and document key sensory attributes such as taste, texture, appearance, aroma, and overall acceptability.
• Stability & Shelf-Life Testing – Prepare and monitor samples for shelf-life studies, conduct stability tests, track product changes and trends, and identify potential product quality issues.
• Analysis & Reporting – Conduct basic chemical analysis, accurately record test results, prepare reports, and provide rationale and insights from research and stability testing.
• Administrative & Ad Hoc Support – Provide administrative and general support for R&D projects, laboratory activities, and other ad hoc assignments while following required safety and laboratory standards.

What You need to be successful

• Diploma, bachelor’s degree or higher qualification, with at least 1 year of experience in the food, beverage, flavour or related industry.
• Experience in product development or laboratory work is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food science or related scientific principles.
• Experience in preparing beverage, jelly, gummy, or similar product samples.
• Basic laboratory testing and equipment-handling skills.
• Good communication skills and an open-minded attitude.
• Curious and interested in new products, trends, and consumer insights.
• Tenacious, proactive, and willing to learn.
• Strong aspiration for personal and professional growth.
