Role Summary

The Executive (Finance, HR & Systems/Applications Support) is primarily responsible for managing the finance and human resource functions of the church, with secondary responsibilities in administrative tasks and support.

The incumbent will work closely with the Finance Chairperson, Church Treasurer, Church Manager, and Pastoral Team to ensure financial integrity and responsible stewardship of church resources, in support of SKMC’s ministries and mission.

This role reports to the Finance Chairperson and the Church Manager, who jointly oversee the incumbent’s performance and work outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities

A) Finance & Accounting

  • In-charge of full set of accounts, work closely with SKMC’s Finance Chairperson and Treasurer to manage Church accounts.
  • Process payments and claims for SKMC staff, pastors and ministries.
  • Perform bank reconciliation.
  • Generate and distribute financial statements and expenses reports.
  • Prepare and submit year-end financial reports and respond to auditor’s queries.
  • Liaise with banks, auditors and government agencies and handle finance-related queries from staff and members.
  • Assist in the preparation and consolidation of Church budget.
  • Maintain fixed asset and inventory schedule.

B) Human Resources & Payroll

  • Administer and submit monthly staff payroll, claims, and CPF contributions.
  • Prepare and upload annual IR8A/IRAS submissions.
  • Support all HR processes such as creating staff records, preparing year-end letters and administering HR policies.
  • Liaise with relevant statutory bodies on employment matters.
  • Manage staff insurance (renewal, claims).

C) Administrative Tasks & Support

  • Support the Church budgeting process.
  • Support Charity Portal filing.
  • Administrator for finance, HR and other systems/applications used by SKMC.
  • Manage user access to ensure data security and compliance for these systems.
  • Manage system maintenance, updates, and 1st line user troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with software vendors for support, enhancements, and training as needed.
  • Perform any ad-hoc duties or assignments as assigned by the Pastor-in-Charge, Reporting Officer(s).
Requirements

Education Background:

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Finance /Accounting or related/equivalent field.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience and knowledge of Employment Act and HR Regulations will be advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, accounting, payroll and related software applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English. Mandarin speaking and writing will be advantageous.

  • Resourceful with strong problem-solving skills and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.

Availability:
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as and when required.
