Job description

What the role is
As an Executive Engineer in the Environment R&D Management Department of Environment Technology Division, you will be part of a dynamic team that is leading, managing, and coordinating research and innovation activities and programmes to meet Singapore’s environmental challenges.

What you will be working on

You will join a team in championing research, development, and adoption of innovative and sustainable solutions in resource recovery from waste and residue to build new capabilities in environmental sustainability and management. You will have opportunities to engage, forge strong linkages and effective partnerships with the academia, industry, government ministries and agencies. Your key tasks include the following:

  1. Engage and facilitate discussions with internal and external stakeholders to identify problems, opportunities and solutions; and to exchange knowledge. Manage these stakeholders effectively and provide support and assistance promptly.
  2. Keep abreast of science and technology trends by conducting literature reviews and scanning of current and future technologies, innovation and operational trends, and engagement with relevant stakeholders.
  3. Collect, synthesise, and analyse data and information related to NEA's policy directions to identify short to long term R&D focus areas.
  4. Assist in the assessment, evaluation and recommendations of R&D proposals for funding consideration.
  5. Manage assigned awarded/funded projects including grant management and providing technical inputs to the project's activities and ensuring the project delivers on its deliverables, KPIs, based on the approved budget and timelines.

What we are looking for

Job Requirements:

  1. Degree in Chemical, Material Science, Environmental Engineering or related discipline with preferably 3 or more years of relevant working experience.
  2. Working experience in research will be an advantage.
  3. Have keen interest in supporting research and development and application of technology in the areas of environmental management.
  1. Good sense of ownership and responsibility with a strong drive for achieving results.
  2. Ability to plan, organise, lead and coordinate activities in a group setting.
  3. Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and consensus-building skills across different disciplines, cultures and organisational levels.
