Job description

Key Responsibilities

Strategy: I am responsible for developing and managing the distribution capabilities of Loan Syndicate (LS) in South Asia, as part of the implementation of the global Loan Syndicate strategy, aligned to the overall strategic direction of Syndicate & Financing Risk and CIB.

Business: Recommending underwritings, fair valuing underwriting positions in South Asia, reviewing structure, timing, pricing to market, and executing distribution strategies of primary syndicated loans in South Asia. Distributing secondary loans in South Asia for the Bank alongside Credit & Portfolio Management. Developing and managing distribution channels to bank and non-bank investors. Developing and maintaining relationships with loan investors in South Asia. Providing loan market intelligence to Origination Verticals and other product partners in Asia to enable origination to distribute.

Processes: Managing all distribution processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies, external laws, and regulations, and operating within risk tolerance and appetite. Driving continuous improvement of operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes. Responsible for production and distribution of marketing materials and communications related to Loan Syndicate products.

People & Talent: Leading by example to build the right culture and values. Setting expectations and collaborating with risk and control partners. Ensuring ongoing training and development, and that holders of critical functions are skilled and qualified. Employing, engaging, and retaining high-quality people with succession planning for critical roles.

Risk Management: Responsible for underwriting, syndication, and distribution of syndicated loans in South Asia. Ensuring syndication and distribution are within the Group's risk appetite, managing reputational and credit risks. Ensuring timely resolution of audit and compliance issues. Taking remedial actions and escalating where appropriate.

Governance: Understanding the regulatory framework and ensuring effective governance. Capable of challenging executives and working cooperatively with regulators. Responsible for escalation and governance committee engagement.

Regulatory & Business Conduct: Displaying exemplary conduct, living by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and guidelines. Embedding high standards of ethics and conducting risk mitigation.

Stakeholder Management: Maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders including sales, structuring, credit, markets, risk, compliance, investors, clients, and borrowers.

Additional: Embedding 'Here for good' and Group values within the team. Performing other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Bank training; completion of mandatory and development training. Business-level English.
