Executive Director, Corporate Banking

Job Responsibility

1. Leading and supporting the JBAP/CBAP RM's deal origination by utilizing relevant functions and capability not only within the CIB Team but entire SMBC Group through regular communication with RMs and also clients. This includes the preparation of proactive discussion papers / pitches for the deal origination and to meet the clients together with the RMs as well.
2. Supporting the execution of short and mid-long term strategy in CBAP and CIB by leveraging the understanding of relevant Depts./Group/Teams’ role within the entire bank.
3. Considering and implementing effective framework to further accelerate CIB initiative including ESG within the region and managing its operation.
4. Providing in-office education to junior colleagues to upskill their marketing and strategic planning skillset.
5. To support whatever required for the deal origination and planning of CIB.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Law, Marketing, Accounting or Finance.
2. Knowledge of financial/management accounting and banking regulations within Asian countries.
3. At least 10 years of experience in corporate banking, preferably with Japanese banking experience.
4. Experience in managing top-tier Asian Multinational corporations and living within Asian countries.
5. Excellent banking skills including credit analysis.
6. Proficiency in Japanese is advantageous as the role will be assisting to prepare reports in Japanese and coordinate with the Tokyo Head Office.
7. Ability to communicate with people of various backgrounds.

9. Ability to work under pressure and attention to the details.
