iC2 Prephouse (iC2)is a charity which has provided invaluable support to families with visually impaired children.Through structured educational, habilitative and rehabilitative programmes, and other activities, young persons with visual impairments are empowered and enabled to live confidently and independently. The iC2 team are knowledgeable, considerate, passionate and committed to serve and deliver the requisite skills and knowledge that will empower and enrich the lives of the visually impaired and their families in a holistic manner.IC2's experience and expertise, garnered over more than 10 years, well positions iC2 to develop its operations and services further. We are seeking to recruit a suitably experienced Executive Director (ED) to guide the charity through its next phase of capability and capacity development.JOB DESCRIPTION
DESIGNATION/ JOB TITLE: Executive Director
JOB PURPOSE:
The Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for providing leadership in strategic and operational planning in the development of iC2's business. The incumbent should have expertise and experience to contribute to developing iC2’s long-term strategy, supervise delivery of strategic initiatives, corporate governance, resource management, financial planning, organisation and capability development. They will develop and review the framework for the organisation’s operating guidelines and standards, direct the implementation of corporate policies in accordance with governance regulations, and drive improvements to the service delivery and operational efficiency.
An experienced executive who possesses excellent management and leadership skills, the ED works in varied settings such as institutional settings, communities, and other social service agencies. They are able to build, maintain and leverage effective relationships with other agencies and government ministries, and other stakeholders such as the Board of Directors. They are also able to develop a sustainable and supportive work culture in the iC2 team and community which supports the vision and mission of iC2.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
1. Build professional partnerships and collaboration
a. Build network of collaborations across agencies to provide cross-agency and division offerings and services
b. Co-strategise social services with other agencies, considering the different agendas, directions and operating models
c. Present the agency's views on social services and other sector-related issues to influence the national agenda, taking into account current social issues
2. Demonstrate corporate governance
a. Set the direction for governance framework to ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations for the organisation
b. Drive the audit framework to ensure compliance with policies
3. Maintain operational efficiency in line with strategic objectives
a. Direct the agency to accomplish its vision and mission
b. Plan goals and strategic focus for the agency, in consultation with the board and management team
c. Determine priority service areas for the agency or division
d. Strategise operations of the agency for performance efficiency and effectiveness
e. Provide recommendations to the board and management team on practices and policy changes
f. Develop framework for service standards, performance indicators and operating guidelines for the centre or department
g. Oversee the evaluation of services provided by the agency or division
4. Develop organisational capability for service delivery
a. Set the directions for capability development initiatives
b. Drive professional development for the department
5. Manage resources
a. Approve allocation of resources of each department, taking into account competing priorities of the agency or division
b. Establish infrastructure and other resources to fulfil the present and future needs of the agency or division
c. Develop human resource management system and framework to recruit and retain talent within the agency or division
d. Manage diverse staff whose skills and cultures reflect the communities that iC2 serves
e. Develop framework, policies and guidelines for volunteer programmes to be used by the agency or division
f. Plan and manage a budget for the agency's financial needs and cash flow
g. Plan, propose and execute funding proposals for delivery of services
6. Develop and lead actionable plans for fundraising
a. Develop effective fundraising strategies and plans
b. Organise and execute various fundraising events and campaigns
c. Identify potential donors and build effective relationships with them
d. Strong communication skills to clearly convey the mission and needs of the organization to potential donors
e. Writing, submitting and tracking grant proposals
f. Monitoring and evaluating fundraising activities for effectiveness
g. Managing budgets and financial reporting related to fundraising activities
h. Maintaining donor records and databases
i. Strong project management skills to handle multiple fundraising initiatives simultaneously.
j. Working with volunteers and organizing volunteer events for fundraising purposes
k. Complying with legal regulations and ethical practices in all fundraising activities
l. Communicating with the public, the media, and other interested parties to gain wider exposure for the organization

The role of the Executive Director at iC2 PrepHouse requires:
• A strong and experienced leader in equality, diversity, social inclusion including being empathetic to issues relating to individuals with disability, especially blindness and visual impairment.
• Minimum 6 years of senior management experience, preferably in the social service sector with experience of writing and delivering business plans and strategies.
• Experience in managing, motivating and developing medium to large size teams.
• Empathetic skills to manage and develop effective team work.
• Ability to delegate and organize work responsibilities effectively through the organization, through clear communication and mutual respect.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task over a diverse range of work tasks.
• Confidence to be innovative and to self-start, demonstrating well-developed management experience and determination.
• Strong communication skills and relationship skills will be critical as the role will require the successful candidate to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including Board of Directors.
