We are seeking a dedicated Financial Counsellor to provide prompt and quality services to patients. In this role, you will be responsible for financial counselling, deposit/payment collection from patients and/or companies as well as providing various financial advice.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the point of contact for inpatients regarding financial matters
  • Ensure financial counselling for assigned inpatients is performed in accordance with the Healthcare Services Act (HCSA)
  • To counsel and provide appropriate advice to inflight patients on managing their bills, including the use of Integrated Shield Plans/MediShield Life, MediSave and other financial schemes that patients.
  • To collect out-of-pocket cash payments from private inpatients
  • To liaise with various parties such as employers/Integrated Shield Plan providers for payment, Letter of Guarantees and Medical Social Services for financial assistance.
  • To ensure all actions taken are recorded in the Financial Counselling system accurately
  • To make outbound calls to patients and/or companies for payment
  • To propose cases for legal proceedings to Management
  • To collaborate with 1 Finance Shared Services under MOHH for all debts management matters
  • To propose and review bad debts for write off
  • May be assigned to patient billing services counter at Patient Services Centre on a rotational basis
  • Any other duties as assigned by Reporting Officer

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma with at least 1 year of experience; candidates without experiene are welcome to apply.
  • Experience in financial counselling, billing, and collection in healthcare is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a strong interest in learning and sharing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Strong communication skills with a service-oriented and customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work Saturdays (half day) based on the roster.
