Job description

SNEF Lab (a SNEF think-tank) of Policy Division

The Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) is a trade union of employers. Our mission is to advance tripartism and enhance labour market flexibility to enable employers to implement responsible employment practices for sustainable growth. SNEF has a membership of over 3,500 companies with a combined workforce of over 800,000.

You must have an interest in labour policies to support SNEF lab’s research and sense-making work to drive SNEF’s efforts in developing and promoting progressive workplace practices, enhance labour market flexibility and advance tripartism.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Sense-make and analyse strategic labour policies, HR trends or recommendations to address issues faced by employers or specific groups of employees in the labour market identified through the research or forecast of labour trends.
  • Monitor and interpret global and local trends, as well as socioeconomic data of the labour markets, with a view of creating novel upstream policy solutions through labour policies.
  • Study and develop models to project and explain future national manpower scenarios, intelligence, and other driving forces and critical uncertainties shaping Singapore’s economic and manpower environment through partnerships with academic institutions, tripartite partners and government agencies.
  • Design and conduct research and analysis to evaluate and forecast employers’ position on identified labour guidelines and regulations.
  • Adopt methodologies to enhance policy development and stakeholders’ engagement.
  • Plan and execute HR projects along areas of salary benchmarking, benefits review, employee engagement and other talent management programmes.
  • Support content and delivery of workshops, events and seminars.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences (political science, sociology, organisation psychology, etc) HR, Statistics or other related disciplines. Fresh graduates are welcomed. An interest in international labour and experience in planning regional/ international events is a plus.

You must:

  • Possess good written, presentation and verbal communication skills
  • Be proficient in applications such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Canva
  • Experience with data analytics/programming applications such as Tableau/PowerBI, Stata, R or SPSS
  • Versatile and resourceful and strong in stakeholders’ management
  • A team player, have a strategic and growth mindset, meticulous and have a keen eye to details
