About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and analytical Execution & Research Analyst to support our trading desk, combining responsibilities in trade execution, data analysis, and research. This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years’ experience. Those from audit, legal, or compliance backgrounds who are looking to transition into active trading and market research are welcome to apply.
The role will involve executing trades on US markets and actively participating in the generation, testing, and refinement of trading ideas through data collection, hypothesis testing, and model building.
Key Responsibilities
Execution & Trading Support
- Execute trades in US markets (US market Hours) promptly and accurately under trader instructions and within defined limits.
- Ensure accurate and real-time trade capture, reconciliation, and reporting in internal systems.
- Liaise with operations, compliance, and risk teams to resolve trade discrepancies and ensure alignment with internal controls.
- Maintain clean, audit-ready records across all trade activities.
Research & Data Analytics
- Collect, clean, and organize trading and market data from various sources (exchanges, brokers, third-party databases).
- Perform regular hypothesis testing to validate or refute trading ideas and strategies.
- Assist in building and maintaining quantitative models to support trading decisions (e.g., price pattern recognition, seasonality analysis, spread relationships).
- Compile market intelligence reports summarizing key insights from data, broker commentary, and news flow.
- Support the trading team with ad hoc analysis to investigate market movements or position risks.
Post-Trade Analysis
- Prepare daily trade summaries, execution reports, and post-trade analyses for performance review.
- Track trading KPIs (slippage, execution quality, position tracking) and contribute insights for improvement.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, Mathematics, or related field.
- 1–2 years’ experience in audit, legal, compliance, trade operations, or data/market research roles.
- Strong interest in financial markets, with motivation to develop quantitative and trading skills.
- Detail-oriented and process-driven, with excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Proficient in Excel; experience with Python, R, SQL, or BI tools is a plus.
- Basic understanding of trading systems and trade lifecycle preferred.
- Comfortable working non-standard/US market hours.
- Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and curiosity to test ideas with data.
- Effective communicator and team player with a proactive attitude.
