About the Role

SHRI is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Events & Membership Executive to support the planning and execution of key events and initiatives while driving member engagement and retention. This role plays a vital part in delivering high-quality experiences to our HR community, enhancing member value, and supporting SHRI’s mission to advance the profession.

The ideal candidate will have strong project coordination skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine interest in building professional communities through events and membership engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Event Coordination (Approx. 60%)

  • Planning & Executive

Support the end-to-end coordination of events including workshops, seminars, conferences, webinars, and networking sessions. This includes venue booking, vendor liaison, logistics setup, registration management, and on-site support.

  • Programme Development:

Assist in researching topics, sourcing speakers, and developing content that aligns with member interests and industry trends.

  • Budget Tracking & Administration:

Help monitor event budgets, process payments and invoices, and maintain records for reconciliation and reporting.

  • Marketing & Promotion:

Collaborate with the marketing team to prepare event communications, including EDMs, social media posts, and website updates.

  • Post-Event Activities:

Assist in collecting feedback, compiling reports, and proposing improvements for future events.

Membership Support (Approx 40%)

  • Member Relations:

Serve as a key point of contact for members, responding to inquiries and providing support for applications, renewals, and account updates.

  • Database Management:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the membership CRM system and assist in tracking key metrics and reports.

  • Engagement & Retention Initiatives

Support campaigns to onboard new members, retain current ones, and enhance the overall member experience through communication, benefits management, and community-building activities.

  • Communications

Prepare and distribute member newsletters, announcements, and welcome materials.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, Events Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in event coordination and/or membership servicing, preferably within an association or non-profit.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., GlueUp) and digital marketing tools is a plus.
  • A customer-first mindset with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to support occasional evening or weekend events.
