Estimating Engineer in electrical engineering industry

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare cost estimates and quotations for switchboards and related electrical components.

• Assist in compiling technical documentation, brochures, catalogs, layout drawings, and other materials for client submissions.

• Manage in-house sales inquiries, including phone-based sales support.

• Support Sales Engineers in order follow-ups and client coordination.

• Develop and optimize computerized systems for costing, estimation, and quotation processes.

• Establish and refine standardized costing methods for improved efficiency.

• Compare estimated costs against actual project expenses and assist in budget planning and control.

• Ensure accuracy and reliability in cost estimations.

• Collaborate with the Purchasing Department to source cost-effective components and explore alternatives for improved efficiency.

• Assist in internal and external coordination tasks as needed.

• Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

• Adhere to the company’s Quality Management System procedures.

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of experience in project cost estimation within the electrical engineering industry (preferred).

• Prior experience in estimating costs for switchboards/panels (marine or industrial) is an advantage.

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
