Job summary

Lombard Odier Investment Managers in Singapore seeks an Equity Research Analyst to contribute high-conviction stock ideas to Asia Public Equities focused on India and ASEAN. You will own primary coverage, build proprietary sector knowledge, and translate insights into investment recommendations.

You will conduct in-depth financial modelling, meet managements, travel across Asia, and defend theses to portfolio managers.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant equity research experience.
• Strong network in Indian equity markets and familiarity with Indian firms.
• CFA designation or progress toward CFA preferred.
• Based in Singapore or willing to relocate to Singapore.

Responsibilities

Lombard Odier Investment Managers (“LOIM”) is the asset management business of the Lombard Odier Group. In order to strengthen our Asia Investment team, we are looking for a:

Equity Research Analyst

Our Asia Public Equities team, based in Singapore, runs concentrated, high-conviction portfolios investing across Asian public markets, with deep specialist coverage in China, India, and ASEAN. The team combines bottom-up fundamental research with a disciplined, long-term investment philosophy, seeking out a small number of exceptional businesses rather than broad index-like exposure.

The Role

We are looking for an Equity Research Analyst to join our Asia Public Equities team in Singapore, contributing differentiated, high-conviction stock ideas to concentrated portfolios. You will own primary research coverage of companies within your area of specialism which will primarily be the India and other EM/Asean markets, building deep, proprietary knowledge of sectors, business models, and management teams, and translating this into actionable investment recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate original, high-conviction investment ideas through in-depth fundamental research, including financial modelling, valuation analysis, and primary due diligence
• Maintain deep coverage of a core universe of companies in primarily in India and other markets where needed, with the flexibility to research opportunities across the broader Asian public equity landscape
• Conduct company meetings, management calls, site visits, and expert network conversations across the region to build differentiated insight, including regular travel within Asia
• Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation frameworks
• Present and defend investment theses to portfolio managers and the wider investment team, including through formal stock pitches
• Monitor portfolio holdings on an ongoing basis, tracking thesis progression, catalysts, and risk factors
• Contribute to portfolio construction discussions and risk management given the concentrated nature of the strategy
• Stay close to macro, regulatory, and policy developments across Asian markets relevant to portfolio positioning, leveraging the team’s on-the-ground presence in Singapore

Candidate Profile

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in equity research, ideally within a buy-side high-conviction/concentrated fund, hedge fund, or a highly regarded sell-side research franchise
• Demonstrated expertise and established professional network in Indian equity markets relevant to the investment strategy
• Have strong links with domestic Indian firms, brokerages and the broader finance eco-system. Preferably, conversant in Hindi and/or have a strong understanding of local knowledge
• Track record of generating original investment ideas that have translated into strong portfolio performance
• Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills
• Based in Singapore or willing to relocate to Singapore
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills ,with the ability to present investment conviction clearly and concisely to portfolio managers
• CFA designation or progress toward CFA preferred
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field from an accredited university
