Job description

The Equipment Engineer will be responsible for supporting the maintenance machines, including CNC, grinding machines, and Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM). The role will involve ensuring the machines' operational efficiency by coordinating maintenance schedules, reducing downtime, and working with both internal teams and external vendors to perform routine maintenance and resolve equipment issues.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule CNC, grinding and EDM machines.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with internal teams and external vendors to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Oversee and ensure timely completion of scheduled maintenance and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine breakdowns, providing technical support to the team.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring quality service and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor machine performance to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Track and report on equipment uptime, maintenance costs, and response times.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve equipment reliability.
  • Stay current with industry advancements and recommend upgrades to improve efficiency

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in equipment engineering, preferably in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with CNC, grinding machines and/or EDM is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems.
  • Proven experience in managing equipment maintenance schedules, downtime reduction, and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external suppliers.
