The Epidemiology team conducts emerging and re-emerging infectious disease surveillance and communicable disease outbreak management in SGH. The Epidemiologist is responsible for:

  • Daily emerging and re-emerging infectious disease surveillance;
  • Conducting contact tracing to mitigate and/or control infectious diseases including vaccine-preventable infectious diseases and multidrug resistant organisms (MDROs) detected in SGH and Outram campus;
  • Conducting disease outbreak investigation and making recommendations on disease containment;
  • Provision of epidemiological and statistical expertise for the planning, design, analysis, and reporting of statistical information;
  • Epidemiological study for identifying incidence, prevalence, causes or risk factors of human morbidity or mortality;
  • Providing support for statistical analysis on audit and research programs.

Requirements:

  • Master or PhD in Public Health or Epidemiology;
  • Expertise in the use of one or more statistical software packages (e.g. SAS, STATA, or SPSS) and Microsoft Office;
  • Candidates with good publication records in journals will be an added advantage.
