Job description

The Epidemiology team conducts emerging and re-emerging infectious disease surveillance and communicable disease outbreak management at SGH. The Epidemiologist is responsible for:

  • Daily surveillance of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases;
  • Conducting contact tracing to mitigate and control infectious diseases, including vaccine-preventable diseases and multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) detected at SGH and Outram campus;
  • Investigating disease outbreaks and recommending containment measures;
  • Providing epidemiological and statistical expertise for planning, designing, analyzing, and reporting statistical data;
  • Conducting epidemiological studies to identify incidence, prevalence, causes, or risk factors of human morbidity or mortality;
  • Supporting statistical analysis for audit and research programs.

Requirements:

  • Master's or PhD in Public Health or Epidemiology;
  • Proficiency in statistical software packages such as SAS, STATA, or SPSS, and Microsoft Office;
  • Good publication record in scientific journals is an advantage.
