Job summary

CHUAN LIM CONSTRUCTION PTE LTD is seeking an on-site Environmental Control Officer to assist the Project Manager in implementing and monitoring environmental health measures at active work sites in Singapore.

The role requires NEA-registered ECO status, a polytechnic technician diploma, and 1–2 years of construction experience. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word is essential, with a 6-day work week and immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• Technician diploma from a polytechnic or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of construction site experience preferred.
• NEA-registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO).
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager to implement and monitor environmental management systems at work sites.
• Identify conditions at sites which cause environmental health problems and report with remedial recommendations.
• Ensure environmental compliance.
• Prepare and submit a Site Environmental Control Programme to the Project Manager.
• Inspect sites to ensure facilities support environmental health and are in proper working condition.
• Point out environmental irregularities and discuss remedies with the Project Manager.
• Attend to all feedback on irregularities and inform the Project Manager.
• Report and submit a Site Environmental Control Report to the Project Manager fortnightly.
• Assist authorities to investigate outbreaks of infectious diseases on site.
• Organise campaigns and training to sustain workers' environmental health standards.
• Be responsible for other duties as may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager to implement and monitor of environmental management systems (including vector control, earth control measures) at work sites.
• To look out for conditions/ situations in construction site which causes environmental health problems or are likely to cause environmental health problems and report to the Project Manager of the construction site together with recommendations on remedial measures to be taken to prevent recurrence;
• Ensure environmental compliance
• Prepare and submit a Site Environmental Control Programme to the Project Manager of the construction site
• Inspect the construction site to ensure all facilities and equipment are relevant to the maintenance of environmental health are in proper working condition and do not pose any environmental health hazard;
• Point out and discuss environmental health irregularities such as mosquito and fly breeding, rodent infestation, noise/dust/smoke/water pollution, poor housekeeping, earth littering, poor refuse management, poor maintenance of sanitary facilities, etc. with the Project Manager of the construction site and recommend measures to rectify such irregularities;
• Attend to all feedback on such irregularities and inform the Project Manager of the construction site accordingly;
• Report and submit a Site Environmental Control Report to the Project Manager of the construction site once every fortnightly;
• Assist the authorities to investigate outbreaks of infectious, vector-borne or food-borne diseases on the construction site;
• Organise campaigns, training courses and other activities to develop and sustain the interest of workers in maintaining good environmental health standards in the construction site; and
• Be responsible for any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time as your superior/management deem fit.

Qualifications

• Possess at least a technician diploma from an acceptable polytechnic relevant Degree
• At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience in construction field (Preferable in LTA Projects)
• NEA registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO).
• Proficient in Excel, PPT & Word
