  • DBA certification.

The Enterprise Database Engineer plays a key role in ensuring that database systems are stable, secure, and perform at their best. This is a service-oriented role requiring a high level of accountability, proactive communication, and strong technical expertise. The ideal candidate will be equally focused on customer support and technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot user-reported issues and determine if problems are database-related.
  • Install and maintain database upgrades, patches, and fixes.
  • Perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal database performance.
  • Analyze performance metrics and apply tuning techniques to improve efficiency.
  • Set up and monitor backup schedules; ensure data recovery processes are in place.
  • Modify and manage stored procedures, triggers, and database structures.
  • Set up new databases for new applications as needed.
  • Assist in cross-functional projects based on team resource planning.
  • Stay current with database administration best practices and trends.
  • Ensure all work aligns with SLAs and quality standards.

Database Systems Management

  • Install, upgrade, and maintain SQL Server databases (on-premise, hybrid, and cloud).
  • Monitor database health and apply tuning as needed.
  • Optimize storage use and plan for capacity.
  • Design and document database backup/recovery procedures.
  • Manage database user accounts and access permissions.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure efficient data structures and minimize duplication.
  • Enforce standards for database naming and configuration.
  • Ensure high availability and 24/7 uptime for critical systems.
  • Track bugs, apply fixes, and test database integrity.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work with vendors on complex application/database issues.
  • Support developers with data import/export and integration tasks.
  • Provide documentation and training on database systems when necessary.
  • Assist with other tasks or projects as required.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2014–2022).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016, 2019) and IIS.
  • Skilled in database design, configuration, and administration.
  • Experience with ETL processes and data transformation tools.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with Always On Availability Groups (AOAG) and clustering.
  • Experience with backup/restore strategies and monitoring tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, SolarWinds).
  • Willingness to work extended hours or weekends when needed.
