The Position

The Enterprise Architect is a key role responsible for defining and maintaining the enterprise architecture framework, strategy, and principles to ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions across Hoya’s global business. This position plays a critical role in shaping the organization's technology landscape, promoting innovation, and driving efficiency.

Major Responsibilities
Develop and Maintain Enterprise Architecture Artefacts

· Establish and continuously refine enterprise architecture principles, standards, and guidelines to ensure alignment with business strategy and technology trends.

· Maintain an accurate and up-to-date view of the current state technology landscape, including infrastructure, applications, and data flows.

· Ensure artefacts are accessible, actionable, and integrated into governance processes.

Lead Architecture Review for Group-Wide Changes and Initiatives

· Chair and facilitate architecture review boards to evaluate the impact of major initiatives across the Group.

· Provide architectural oversight and ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise standards and strategic direction.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to assess risks, dependencies, and opportunities for reuse and optimisation.

Manage and Maintain the Application Portfolio Strategy

· Define and execute strategies for application rationalisation, modernisation, and lifecycle management.

· Maintain a comprehensive inventory of applications, including business fit, technical health, and strategic value.

· Work with business and IT leaders to identify opportunities for consolidation, retirement, or investment.

Develop and Maintain Business Capability Maps

· Create and evolve business capability models that reflect the organisation’s strategic priorities and operational needs.

· Use capability maps to identify gaps, overlaps, and opportunities for transformation.

· Align capabilities with technology enablers and investment planning.

Collaborate with Solution Architecture to Develop and Maintain Reference Architectures

· Partner with solution architects to define reusable reference architectures and patterns that guide solution design.

· Ensure reference architectures are aligned with enterprise principles and support scalability, security, and interoperability.

· Promote adoption through documentation, training, and governance.

Support Demand Management and IT Portfolio Planning

· Contribute to the evaluation and prioritisation of IT initiatives based on architectural fit, strategic alignment, and value delivery.

· Provide architectural input into investment planning, roadmapping, and resource allocation.

· Ensure demand aligns with enterprise architecture standards and contributes to long-term business goals.

Stakeholder Engagement

· Act as a trusted advisor, build and maintain relationships with business partners to develop a clear understanding of business needs and opportunities for key pivots in strategy and technology approach to enable value.

· Facilitate discussions to resolve architecture-related challenges.

· Present and communicate architectural decisions and strategies to diverse audiences.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with senior management and key stakeholders.

Performance Optimization

· Identify opportunities for optimizing technology investments and reducing complexity.

· Provide recommendations for performance improvements and cost savings.

· Collaborate with IT teams to implement architectural changes for optimization.

Key Deliverables

· Demonstrable alignment between investments and strategic target outcomes

Qualifications
Education/Training Qualifications:

· Degree qualified or higher education in IT, Engineering, or related business degree

· Certification in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) is advantageous.

· Project Management (Prince2, PMP)

· Cloud Architecture Certifications (e.g. Azure, AWS)

· Security Certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCSP CRISC)

Experience:

· At least 15 years of experience in varying IT roles focused on strategy, architecture, engineering, delivery and/or operations with increasing levels of responsibility.

· At least 7-8 years of experience in enterprise architecture and at least one of the following IT disciplines: application development, data or infrastructure in a corporate or equivalent consulting environment.

· Experience in the development of Enterprise Information Technology Governance processes and practices aligned to an industry standard framework (e.g. COBIT)

· Experience of Cyber Security Risk Management in a global organization utilizing widely accepted frameworks (ISO27001, NIST, COBIT)

· Demonstrated experience influencing key decision makers/senior/C-level executives and large, cross-functional teams.

· Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organization design & development and the ability to lead transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments.

· Previous experience delivering strategy, roadmaps, reference architecture and standards.

· Exposure to Operational Technology Architecture in a manufacturing or engineering context is beneficial

· Demonstrated experience in defining and implementing enterprise architecture strategies.

· Strong understanding of technology trends and their impact on business.
