The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for providing basic care, promoting a therapeutic environment, and assisting the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of care for patients under the direction and guidance of the Nurse Clinician and Registered Nurses.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate understanding, knowledge, accountability, and responsibility of the legal obligations for nursing practice.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and legible documentation and records.
- Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for delegated care within scope of practice and level of competence.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect patient’s right to dignity, autonomy, and access to information.
- Escalate and discuss ethical issues and concerns with RN.
- Respect the values, customs, spiritual beliefs, and practices of individuals and groups.
Perform treatment and attend to other medical orders according to hospital policy.
- Accompany patients to other departments for treatment/admission.
- Perform simple dressing, venipuncture, Electrocardiogram (ECG), oral/Nasopharyngeal swabbing, and other nursing procedures when required.
- Demonstrate competence in skills, knowledge, and attitude in the care of vulnerable patients, including those undergoing Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) or clinics.
- Perform close monitoring of patients undergoing pre-ECT, during ECT, and post-ECT procedures.
- Conduct patient/family education and prepare patients physically and mentally prior to procedures and treatments in ECT or clinics.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of Neurostimulation Service after each ECT session.
- Demonstrate competence in performing patient and family education and discharging patients after ECT treatment.
- Practice strict infection control standards in the delivery of patient care.
Participate in the implementation of treatment plans and nursing care plans.
- Observe, check, monitor, and record vital signs of patients, reporting any changes or pertinent information to the Registered Nurse.
- Review the effectiveness of interventions, including patient responses to medication.
- Assist in making arrangements with patients’ families for reviews.
- Carry out doctor’s orders, notify families, and send OPS referrals to patients under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Notify patients/caregivers of follow-up appointments at other RH SOCs.
- Facilitate the triage process for ADHD referrals, email ADHD triage forms to the doctor in charge, and notify patients of appointments and consultation charges.
- Practice strict infection control standards in patient care.
Requirements:
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Enrolled Nursing Certificate / National Certificate in Nursing / Midwifery
- Enrolled with the Singapore Nursing Board
