Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Research, source, plan and develop high quality curriculum with creative content in line with set teaching pedagogies and requirements.
• Plan and prepare weekly lessons in line with the requirements to provide high-quality learning experiences, meeting set objectives.
• Coordinate review and feedback on the curriculum and update lessons on a continuous basis to meet teaching objectives.
• Develop and conduct training programmes for teachers implementing the curriculum.
• Conduct pre-assessments of new students and progress assessments for existing students to monitor reading proficiency levels and set development/improvement goals.
• Teach the Reading programme with prescribed teaching materials, aids and pedagogy and in ways that excite curiosity and facilitate active learning, cultivating a love for reading.
• Perform any ad-hoc duties or responsibilities assigned (for full time teachers only).
• Maintain a high standard of work ethic, punctuality, good discipline and order.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• At least a Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood, Educational Studies in Early Years Enrichment or Literacy, English Language or English Literature.
• At least 1-2 year of work experience in curriculum planning, development, training and teaching phonics and reading classes to young learners.
• Strong command of English, both spoken and written with excellent academic track record in English Language.
• Good class management skills with children of all ages and background.
• Energetic, creative, enthusiastic, patient and enjoys teaching children in a fun and exciting manner.
• Able to teach Phonics in the morning for 2 days in a week.
