Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified English teacher to conduct CEFR-aligned classes for beginner and elementary level students. The successful candidate will be responsible for proposing appropriate textbooks and developing teaching materials for approval by the Principal. Classes will be scheduled based on student bookings and may be conducted either online or face-to-face, depending on student preference. Lessons will take place in group format. Teachers must be willing to travel to our Chinatown office for in-person sessions when requested by students.
Responsibilities:
Develop and propose appropriate teaching materials and textbooks to the principal(Independently create all necessary teaching materials, including PowerPoint slides, handouts, and quizzes.)
Design and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with CEFR standards (Beginner to Elementary levels)
Define clear learning outcomes for each topic and ensure lessons are structured to achieve them
Ensure each session adheres to the approved syllabus while addressing the specific learning goals and progress of individual students
Apply diverse teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and maintain student engagement
Prepare and maintain comprehensive teaching documentation, including schemes of work, lesson plans, and instructional notes
Monitor and evaluate student performance through formative assessments, providing timely feedback
Guide and counsel students on language learning strategies, study habits, and areas for improvement
Suggest self-study resources and techniques to support independent learning
Maintain open and professional communication with the Principal, providing regular feedback on student progress and teaching outcomes
Conduct group sessions based on student bookings, both on weekdays and weekends
Utilize online teaching platforms such as Zoom and Google Classroom effectively for lesson delivery
Must be willing to travel to the office at Chinatown for face-to-face sessions when requested or booked by students
Requirements:
Relevant teaching qualifications (preferable with TESOL, TEFL, TESL, ACTA)
Bachelor or Master in any field
Bilingual in English & Mandarin to liaise with English-speaking and Mandarin-speaking students
Energetic, proactive, outgoing personality, responsible and hardworking
Preferably with English teaching experience
Able to teach classes on weekend and weekdays evenings
Comfortable with using online teaching tools such as Zoom and Google classroom.
Willingness to complete an MBTI assessment
Ability to recommend appropriate textbooks for instruction
Qualified candidates must complete an MBTI personality assessment as part of the application procedure.
