About our group:

We are the (FA) Failure Analysis group in Media Research & Development, responsible for identifying and understanding causes of failures in recording media. We utilize tools such as Microscopes, Candela, and AFM to determine root causes, generate failure analysis reports, and coordinate with relevant process groups. Rejected disks are sent to MSL (Material Science Lab) for in-depth analysis. This role reports to the Senior Engineer team lead.

About the role - you will:
  • Perform Failure Analysis using Candela, Microscopes, and AFM to identify root causes.
  • Update reports and notify relevant processes via email (Event notification).
  • Submit disks to MSL for further analysis.
  • Raise DMRs, clear reject disks, print DMRs, and coordinate with the warehouse for scrap.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by Engineers.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
  • Assist Engineers with yield improvement projects.
About you:
  • Task-oriented and able to work under stress.
  • Team player and good listener.
  • Capable of working independently when required.
  • Willing to work in rotating 12-hour shifts and perform overtime as necessary.
Your experience includes:
  • Developing strong technical skills in your engineering field.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, understanding engineering principles, and hands-on technical abilities.
Location:

Our Woodlands site is one of Singapore's largest electronics manufacturing facilities, housing our recording media operations across three accessible sites. Facilities include an onsite canteen, gym, dance studio, and recreational activities like badminton and table tennis. We also host celebrations and community volunteer events.
