Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Engineering Scheduler for the Singapore Tuas site to meticulous y schedule maintenance aligned with production needs. You will maximize resource use, minimize downtime, and support safe execution.

Responsibilities include building annual plans, weekly scheduling, MAXIMO data accuracy, and generating reports with Cognos. The role requires collaboration across teams and strict adherence to GMP and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in pharma, food, petrochemical plants, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
  • Experience in maintenance planning and execution is a plus.
  • Experience with MAXIMO system.
  • Strong communication and ability to work independently.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Align yearly plan with production.
  • Develop weekly schedule from Ready backlog and available hours.
  • Discuss maintenance planning with operations weekly.
  • Freeze weekly maintenance plan and inform stakeholders.
  • Review adherence to plans and reschedule non-adherences.
  • Ensure MAXIMO reflects resource allocation for work orders.
  • Act as MAXIMO Super User for scheduling workflows.
  • Generate scheduling reports using Cognos Super User capabilities.
  • Keep equipment maintained with minimal production downtime.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize maintenance windows.
  • Track and report weekly/monthly maintenance metrics.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Head of Department.
  • Comply with GMPs, hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor.

The Opportunity

As the Engineering Scheduler, you will be responsible for effective scheduling of all maintenance activities in alignment with production requirements. You will ensure weekly schedules maximize resource utilization, minimize production interruption, and support safe and timely execution.

What You'll Do
  • Set up yearly maintenance and projects plan (including downtime budget).
  • Align yearly plan together with production.
  • Use the planned (Ready) backlog from Planner and available hours provided by Shift Supervisors to develop the weekly schedule and make schedule adjustments when necessary.
  • Discuss and align maintenance planning with operations at a minimum of once a week.
  • Freeze weekly maintenance plan and communicate to stakeholders.
  • Review adherence to weekly maintenance plans with stakeholders and reschedule non-adherences accordingly.
  • Ensure work order resource allocation in MAXIMO system is accurately reflected.
  • Act as the Maximo Super User for scheduling workflows and data accuracy.
  • Generate scheduling performance reports using Cognos Super User capabilities.
  • Keep equipment maintained with minimal impact to production uptime.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize maintenance execution windows and steward progress with stakeholders.
  • Track and report weekly/monthly maintenance planning performance metrics.
  • Perform other business-related duties as requested by the Head of Department.
  • Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), hygiene rules, and sanitation standards.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years of practical maintenance experience in a Pharmaceutical, Food, or Petrochemical Plant, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Knowledge in Project Management skills.
  • Experience in maintenance planning and execution will be a plus.
  • Experience with MAXIMO system.
  • Able to make fast decisions, react efficiently to situations, and work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or a Diploma with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
