The Engineering Manager will be responsible for providing Technical Support for the Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) developments primarily throughout Southeast Asia and Pacific when needed. Project types include leads & pipeline projects (new build, equity, conversions projects) and existing hotel projects (retrofit & engineering projects) across all of Radisson Hotel brands.
Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership and Management:
- Setup a clear and agreed protocol of communications, validation and reporting with Client, Lead Consultants and RHG Stack Holders.
- Provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluations for engineering staff.
- Review standard operating procedures prepared by properties to ensure consistency and quality.
- Prepare a GM file, to be handed over for the systems and elements related to engineering aspects.
Facility Maintenance and Operations:
- Visit functional properties and identify activities for improvement in accordance with RHG brand standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyse energy modelling and design for main MEP systems to maximise lift cycle operational cost.
Project Management:
- Review and analyse Design Concept and Brief Reports for the MEP and FLS systems and highlights essential activities for compliance.
- Attend project meetings when requested and discuss design elements with project team (consultants and contractors).
- Review and ensure compliance to RHG standards for Deviation list prepare by consultants. Deviations can only be approved by RHG Area Office via Deviation Schedule / Signed Waiver.
- Ensure pipeline projects are completed on time and meet quality standards according to RHG requirement.
- Assist when required on suggesting Value Engineering solutions or specifications.
- Keep good record of all reviewed and approved documents for various technical trades and design stages.
- Close out project, assist in the preparation and review of all handover documentation, 3rd party reports, local authorities’ approvals, with the Chief Engineer assigned to the property.
- Coordinate and oversee engineering projects such as renovations, refurbishments, and new installations for operating properties.
- Prepare, update and summit monthly reports and tracking systems as needed per project and updating on “Smart Sheet”.
Technical Oversight:
- Assist with the update of the RHG Engineering Design Standards.
- Research and propose new technologies to improve Guest experiences and expectations.
- Ensure all templates, forms and checklists are updated according to the latest standards and requirements.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, health standards, and company policies.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure all staff follow safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications
- Degree / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) is preferred; relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in engineering management, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Proven experience in facility maintenance, project management, and team leadership.
- Strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Familiarity with hospitality industry standards and guest service expectations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This role may involve frequent travel between hotel properties within the assigned region.
- The position may require working in various environments, including hotel facilities, construction sites, and office settings.
