Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Senior Design Engineer or Naval Architect.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing an engineering design department.
• Proven history working with Aluminium in shipbuilding industry.
• Formal Naval Architect or Mechanical/Marine Engineering qualifications.
• Sound knowledge of Classification Society Rules and Flag Regulations.
• High level negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
• Excellent interpersonal & leadership skills.
• Experienced in contractual management.
• Strong network of industry suppliers, subcontractors and contacts.
• Cross-cultural experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering management of Singapore and Vietnam teams.
• Provide technical and design expertise.
• Schedule design deliverables to support project schedule.
• Ensure vessel designs meet all contractual requirements and specifications.
• Oversee technical reviews for procurement of main equipment and materials.
• Coordinate with classification societies, flag states, and regulatory bodies.
• Resolve technical issues with OEMs, clients, and authorities.
• Lead weight management, inclining experiments, and sea trials protocols.
• Collaborate with General Manager, Engineering and Senior Management Group.
• Engage in high-level contractual negotiations and dispute resolution.
• Update and adhere to company design standards.
• Drive continual design improvements aligned with industry standards.
