Qualifications

• Significant experience managing and developing software engineering teams in a high-performance environment.
• Strong experience with modern C++ in performance-critical or low-latency systems.
• Solid experience with Python and leading teams across C++ and Python.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, concurrency, performance engineering, and systems design.
• Experience leading globally distributed or geographically diverse engineering teams.
• Proven track record delivering complex, business-critical projects.
• Ability to operate at both strategic and technical levels.
• Excellent communication, prioritisation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Genuine interest in developing people and building exceptional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a globally distributed team of 8–10 C++ and Python engineers.
• Set clear technical direction and priorities aligned with trading and technology strategy.
• Own the architecture and evolution of core engineering systems for low-latency trading.
• Drive delivery across the team with well-defined, prioritized projects.
• Collaborate with quantitative researchers, traders, infrastructure engineers, and senior tech leaders.
• Maintain focus on performance, latency, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Remain technically engaged with ~20% hands-on contributions (architecture, reviews, investigations).
• Build a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Recruit, retain, and develop engineering talent across locations and time zones.
• Communicate effectively with technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
