Job summary

Firmus Technologies is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Platform Engineering and Observability team. You will manage people and deliver the platform beneath the Firmus AI Cloud, spanning bare-metal GPU compute to internal services and observability.

This build-and-grow role focuses on reliability, developer experience, and scalable infrastructure across regions. You’ll own cross-squad delivery, set design and code review standards, and drive cost-efficient, secure production ecosystems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• 4+ years managing engineers, with direct ownership of hiring, growth, and performance for a team of at least 8 engineers.
• Track record building high-performing, self-improving engineering team and a strong delivery culture.
• Proven track record delivering complex infrastructure or platform at scale, making delivery predictable across multiple teams and dependencies.
• You thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and make sound decisions with incomplete information, reprioritising as the business requirements change.
• Experienced with AI-assisted development and agentic AI, and able to lift your teams’ throughput and quality with these tools.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Growth: be the STO for multiple squads, hire and coach engineers, and shape organisational culture.
• Delivery & Execution: own end-to-end delivery and align with product and sprint planning.
• Technical Direction: set engineering quality bar and drive cross-cutting decisions on build/buy/Open Source.
• Operational Excellence & Governance: ensure reliability, incident management, and security controls.
• Stakeholder & Customer Communication: report progress to CTO and align with product and customers.
