Job summary

Firmus Technologies seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the Platform Engineering and Observability team. You will be responsible for both people and delivery, growing engineers and shipping the platform beneath the Firmus AI Cloud—from bare-metal GPU compute to observability—treating them as products.

You will own hiring, design org structure, and engineering culture, driving reliability, developer experience, and cost efficiency as the company scales across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• 4+ years managing engineers, with direct ownership of hiring, growth, and performance for a team of at least 8 engineers.
• Track record delivering complex infrastructure or platform at scale, making delivery predictable across multiple teams and dependencies.
• Experienced with AI-assisted development and agentic AI, and able to lift your teams' throughput and quality with these tools.

Responsibilities

• Be the Single-Threaded Owner (STO) for multiple squads: Hire strong engineers and manage performance directly.
• Own end-to-end delivery, turning roadmaps into sequenced, predictable delivery with sprint planning and release gates.
• Set engineering quality bar and decide build/buy/open source, and ensure design reviews and security standards.
• Own reliability and security of production services, manage incidents, and govern SLOs, on-call, and cost while aligning with leadership and customers.
