Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of conceptual, schematic, and detailed engineering designs for data center facilities, ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and Singaporean regulations (e.g., SCDF, BCA, NEA, EMA).
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports
  • Collaborate with sales and pre-sales teams to develop technical proposals and solutions for bids.
  • Collaborate with the tender team to ensure all necessary scopes of work are accurately captured and costed
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises to optimize designs for cost, efficiency, and constructability.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a multi-disciplinary team of engineers (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, IT Infrastructure, Fire Protection, BMS).
  • Provide expert guidance and technical direction on all data center infrastructure components, including but not limited to power systems (UPS, generators, switchgear), cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH, chillers, cooling towers), network architecture, structured cabling, fire suppression, security systems, and building management systems (BMS/DCIM).
  • To ensure that design requirements and technical specifications, critical parameters and tender responses are communicated to the Project Manager in charge
  • Ensure proper documentation and handover of technical calculations or information to clients.
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards, procedures, and quality control measures.
  • Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant Singaporean building codes, safety regulations, environmental standards, and international data center standards (e.g., TIA-942, ISO 27001 implications for physical security)


Requirements
  • Bachelor in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 10 years experience in engineering design and/or project management for large-scale critical facilities, with a primary focus on data centre
  • Strong understanding of data centre critical infrastructure, including power, cooling, fire protection and IT systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data centre commissioning standards, with a demonstrated history of successfully completing projects for hyper-scale data centre clients.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to travel within Southeast Asia region
